Postcard of the Tatra Mountains IGŁA (Zadni Mnich) in Orla Perć, priest Walenty Gadowski
The postcard shows a rocky spire in the Tatra Mountains called "Igla" (or Zadni Mnich). It is located on the Orla Perc trail, which is considered one of the most difficult and exposed tourist trails in Poland. Object Name: Needle (Zadni Monk) Location: Orla Perć, High Tatras, on the Polish-Slovak border Original old pre-war postcard published by Father Walenty Gadowski. The postcard shows a climber at the top of Wielka Buczynowa Turnia, commemorating the moment of the historic ascent. Wielka Buczynowa Turnia is the highest peak in the Buczynowe Turnia group in the Polish High Tatras, rising to a height of 2,184 m above sea level. The first ascent to the peak was made by Walenty Gadowski and Antoni Panek in 1902. The Orla Perc Trail runs along the southern slopes of this peak, bypassing the peak, which is currently only accessible to mountaineers. This peak is one of the most impressive objects on the famous, difficult Orla Perc trail. Good condition, visible in the photos.
